Lots of folks seem to not like the new design. I'm fine with it and have been playing around with ways to make it look nice (branded) for my client base. The old customizations I have done do not work well with the new design at all.
I think a lot of people are complaining because the new design will not be an option they can choose, but will be forced upon us. I say we need to adapt, YouTube has given us warnings (behind the scenes) and July 15, 2009 is the date when things will change for all us "non-partner" types.
I really started to dig in when I made a new account to test something and noticed that the new channel design was all I could use for the new account. That is when it hit me... they really mean it.
So I'll be reporting bit by bit about my experiences making changes for the new set-up here in my new blog.
